Dwon Fields, Sr. Shares His Story

“Every day I wake up and have so much pain, but I have to keep moving on. We know we have to put one foot forward and live for DJ.”

That is an excerpt from a wonderful story of perseverance that Dwon Fields, Sr. wrote as part of “The Image: In The Mirror III,” a book of essays by men on how to see the king in each of us and transform both our own lives and the lives of those around us.

“Live Like D.J.” 5.5k Walk & Run

D.J.’s parents, Dwon Fields, Jr. and Kema Bryant, partnered with the Palmetto Running Company to launch the first Live Like D.J. 5.5k Walk and Run on Sept. 17, 2022. Huge thanks to the community for showing up for D.J. and the family.

The event was part of the Field’s family “DJ’s Day of Giving Back,” a barbecue and field day held at Eagles Field to thank the community for all their support since D.J. was taken from us on March 5, 2021.

No. 55 Retired at Bluffton High School

It was the field he loved to play on, and now, no one will ever wear D.J. Fields’ number again at Bluffton High School.

The Bobcats retired No. 55 in a ceremony before their Sept. 16, 2022 game against Battery Creek. BLHS went on to win the game, 38-0.

A huge thank you to every member of Bobcats Nation and the entire youth football community for showing their love for the Fields family!
